Mask For Covenant Hospice

I was asked this year to design a mask for Covenant Hospice. Each year Covenant Hospice holds a benefit to help raise funds for those who might not be able to afford their services. I consider it an honor to be asked to participate and look forward to attending the functions associated with the event. The masks will be on display in the community prior to being auctioned off at the gala on March 3.

I started with a plain clay mask which Covenant Hospice provides. You must use their mask as part of your design. As I am still experimenting with painted, fusible adhesive and burlap, I used this method to create the mask. I painted the mask, added a little gold for shading along with angelina fibers. Coral, scallop shells and a seahorse were made from burlap and placed on the mask. The elements are embellished with crystals.
