First Stitch of the New Year

Fairie Goddess Mothers list members were asked what our first stitch of the year would be.

January 1, after a traditional Southern lunch of pork roast, black eyed peas, turnip greens, pepper sauce, cornbread, pecan pie and a nap I begin to think about that first stitch.

My focus this year is to celebrate something everyday. On the other hand if someone invites you to a wonderful celebration, they certainly are due a thank you. I decided to make a fabric postcard to send to my friend for inviting me to a very elegant party held December 29. I used Jaquard paints, angelina fibers, Textiva fusible film (for the first time) and metallic threads on the postcards. Now, all I have to do is pick one, write my message and drop it in the mail.
