How Time Flies

This summer has flown by quicker than one could imagine. Several trips to see an acquaintance from the past and two very exciting birthday parties mixed in with work and everyday living has made the time pass quickly.

GS#2, 10 years old in August, invited me to his party. We played games, attended a movie, ate pizza and cake and had a great time. GS#1, 12 years old in September, also invited me to his party. He had a slumber party for 7 more boys just like him! I think they went to sleep at 4:30 am, as the effort to keep each other awake finally failed. When my daughter suggested she call the parents and send them home early if the pillow fights did not cease, they decided they better settle down. Once they got still, they were out. All in all they were well behaved and acted like we expected them to at the age of 12. It was quite an experience taking the group to the mall. My daughter planned the movie trip well. Picking a late movie, we arrived at the mall just after the stores were closed. Now how smart was that! They walked all over the mall and had an eye opening experience when they realized the security guards were watching them to see what they might do. We trailed behind them watching their antics.

I can't believe that it is already September 15th. Football season is in full swing and the weather is getting a little bit cooler. I look forward to the wonderful weather we have in the fall, the activities and trips I have planned, another birthday party in December and the upcoming holiday season.

  1. Sounds like you have a whole lotta fun with those grandchildren. You are so lucky to have them all close by where you are able to enjoy their antics.
