Mardi Gras

This small wallhanging was made after taking a Fantasy Fabric Class with Bonnie McCaffrey. The outside border fabric was made from a very stretchy, see through print. I cut the fabric into pieces taking no care as to what size and laid them on black cotton, added sequins and sparkly thread. I covered the fabric with tuille and stabilized it with machine stitching, then cut my border pieces. The mask and other pieces in the middle of the quilt are also under tuille. The earrings were added after the piece was finished.
